About the Company
Sentris is a specialized engineering and construction company focused on designing and delivering high-performance data centers across Northern Europe, including the Baltics, Norway, Sweden, and the United Kingdom.
The company manages technically complex projects ranging from €10 million to €100 million in value, with data center capacities between 2 MW and 100 MW. Projects cover the entire development lifecycle, from initial concept and engineering design to equipment procurement, construction management, and commissioning.
With growing demand for data center infrastructure driven by AI and digitalization, Sentris is expanding its team to deliver multiple large-scale projects simultaneously.
About the Role
We are looking for an HVAC Design Engineer with a strong background in industrial cooling systems to join Sentris' engineering team.
In this role, you will design high-capacity cooling and HVAC systems for data centers, focusing on water-based and water-glycol cooling infrastructure, hydraulic networks, and reliable thermal management solutions.
You will work closely with the Head of Design and a small, highly experienced engineering team, taking hands-on responsibility for technical calculations, system design, equipment selection, and engineering documentation.
This position offers the opportunity to contribute to complex international projects and develop professionally as the company continues to grow.
Responsibilities
-
Design industrial HVAC and high-capacity cooling systems for data centers, with a particular focus on chilled-water and water-glycol systems.
-
Perform engineering calculations, including cooling loads, water flow rates, pipe sizing, pressure losses, and pump head calculations.
-
Design hydronic networks, piping layouts, hydraulic schemes, and cooling system configurations.
-
Select and specify cooling equipment, including chillers, dry coolers, heat exchangers, pumps, valves, and associated components.
-
Develop energy-efficient, reliable cooling solutions, considering system redundancy, operational efficiency, and maintainability.
-
Address air distribution, airflow, and hot/cold aisle management requirements within data center environments.
-
Prepare technical drawings, engineering calculations, equipment specifications, and project documentation.
-
Collaborate with electrical, IT, automation, and other engineering disciplines to ensure integrated system design.
-
Participate in technical discussions with equipment manufacturers, contractors, clients, and project stakeholders.
Requirements
-
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, HVAC Engineering, Energy Engineering, or a related technical field.
-
At least 3 years of experience designing industrial HVAC or cooling systems, preferably for manufacturing facilities, process industries, energy infrastructure, or data centers.
-
Hands-on experience designing water-based cooling systems, including chilled-water and water-glycol circuits.
-
Strong understanding of hydraulic calculations, including flow rates, pipe sizing, pressure drops, pump selection, and system balancing.
-
Knowledge of industrial cooling equipment, including chillers, dry coolers, heat exchangers, pumps, and control valves.
-
Ability to independently prepare technical drawings, hydraulic schematics, engineering calculations, and equipment specifications.
-
Good written and spoken English.
-
A proactive, responsible, and hands-on approach, with the ability to adapt quickly and solve technical challenges in a dynamic project environment.
Important: Experience limited to residential buildings, warehouses, office ventilation, or conventional commercial comfort HVAC systems is not sufficient for this position. We are specifically looking for candidates with practical experience in industrial, high-capacity cooling system design.
Nice to have:
-
Experience designing cooling systems for data centers, including CRAH units, coolant distribution units (CDUs), or liquid cooling infrastructure.
-
Experience with large-scale (MW-level) industrial cooling or process cooling projects.
-
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, MagiCAD, or similar engineering design software.
-
Lithuanian Project Discipline Manager (PDV) certification.
-
Experience working on international engineering projects.
What We Offer
-
High-impact international projects: work on technically advanced data centers across Northern Europe, with project values ranging from €10 million to €100 million.
-
Performance-based bonuses: additional compensation linked to successful project delivery and profitability.
-
Additional pension contributions: an employer-supported pension benefit as part of the overall compensation package.
-
Professional growth: opportunities to take on broader engineering responsibilities and progress toward senior engineering or project discipline leadership roles.
-
Experienced, collaborative team: work directly with the Head of Design and experienced professionals in a small team with minimal bureaucracy and meaningful individual responsibility.
-
Hybrid working model: four days per week in the office and one day working remotely.
-
Long-term career opportunities: join a growing company operating in one of Europe's fastest-developing infrastructure sectors.
